Major Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and applying penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks follow periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
